CalTans warns that beginning Friday, April 25, motorists traveling on State Route 299 should prepare for 24/7 one-way traffic control, managed by a temporary traffic signal, approximately 3.5 miles east of Burnt Ranch. Drivers may experience delays of up to 15 minutes as work begins on the Del Loma Pavement Project.
This roadway improvement project spans from one mile east of the Trinity River Bridge to 1.5 miles east of Little French Creek. It is designed to extend the life of the pavement and enhance safety by upgrading key traffic management features. Improvements include guardrail upgrades, lane widening, one box culvert repair, and the replacement of 16 additional culverts.
As part of the lane widening efforts, a new retaining wall will also be constructed on the eastbound shoulder within the traffic control area.
Construction is expected to be completed by October 2025. Caltrans thanks the public for their patience and reminds motorists to drive safely through work zones.
