Firefighters are working around the clock to safely manage the Biscar Fire near Susanville. To support that work, BLM California has issued a temporary closure order for public lands near Snowstorm Road and Vincent Canyon, effective immediately for public and firefighter safety.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has closed public lands near Snowstorm Road and Vincent Canyon, northeast of Susanville in Lassen County, due to the Biscar Fire that started on July 17. This closure protects the public and firefighters during fire suppression efforts.
The closure covers areas west of Highway 395, north of Karlo Road, east of Snowstorm Road and the Modoc Line, and south of Horse Lake Road to Highway 395. East of Highway 395, it includes lands from Smoke Creek Road to Sand Pass Road, Stone Corral Road, and the Buckhorn Backcountry Byway.
Officials, emergency responders, BLM staff, and those with written BLM approval may access the closed areas. The closure began immediately after the order and will remain until further notice.
