The Lassen County Office of Education (LCOE), which previously partnered with Lassen County District 5 Supervisor Jason Ingram, proudly hosted its fourth annual Career Opportunity & Skills Day at Lassen High School, now established as an annual LCOE event. This year’s event saw an incredible turnout, welcoming over 600 high school students from across Lassen County to connect with more than 30 local and regional employers, providing hands-on exposure to a wide variety of career pathways.
From skilled trades to public service and healthcare, students had the opportunity to explore realworld careers and engage directly with professionals in the field. The event focused on helping students understand the skills, training, and education needed to pursue future careers while sparking new interests and possibilities.
“This continues to be one of the highlights of our year,” said Patricia Gunderson, Lassen County Superintendent of Schools. “It truly reflects the strength of our community when we come together to support and invest in the future of our students.”
A highlight of the day was the strong support from local employers and organizations who volunteered their time to mentor, demonstrate skills, and share valuable career insights. Students were able to ask questions, participate in interactive experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities available right here in Lassen County.
LCOE extends a huge thank you to all participating employers and community partners whose dedication made this event possible. Their continued commitment plays a vital role in preparing students for success beyond the classroom. By bringing education and industry together, the Career Opportunity & Skills Day continues to grow as a meaningful opportunity for students to explore, connect, and envision their future careers.
