Susanville FFA members turned in an impressive showing during the opening day of livestock competitions at the Lassen County Fair, earning multiple champion titles across the sheep, goat and poultry divisions.
In the sheep show, Samantha Medvin claimed Supreme Champion Market Lamb and FFA Champion Market Lamb, while also earning Reserve FFA Champion Market Lamb honors. Medvin added another title by winning FFA Advanced Sheep Showmanship. John Ammon was named FFA Novice Sheep Showmanship champion, and the Susanville FFA chapter earned top honors with its Pen of Three.
The goat show saw Aspen Borba take home Supreme Champion Market Goat and FFA Champion Market Goat, along with the FFA Advanced Goat Showmanship award.
Susanville FFA members also dominated the poultry show. Lily Ammon was named Supreme Champion Market Goose and FFA Champion Market Goose, while also earning FFA Reserve Champion Market Goose and winning both FFA Advanced Turkey Showmanship and FFA Advanced Poultry Showmanship.
Other top finishers included Isabella Burton, who captured Supreme Champion Market Broiler Pen, Keith Mealey, named FFA Reserve Champion Market Broiler Pen, Nadiya Floyd, who earned Supreme Champion Market Ducks and FFA Champion Market Ducks, and Marylou Trisler, recognized as FFA Reserve Champion Market Ducks.
The strong results highlighted the hard work and preparation of Susanville FFA members as livestock competitions continue throughout the Lassen County Fair.
