Susanville Man Sentenced to 8 Years for Fourth Domestic Violence

On September 30, 2025, the eve of Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness Month which is October, JACK LEE JUDLIN, 38, of Susanville, was sentenced to 8 years in state prison for domestic violence in violation of Penal Code section 273.5.
Judlin enter a guilty plea to one count of 273.5(a), admitted having sustained a prior domestic violence conviction in the past 7 years, and admitted having sustained a prior “strike” conviction. The court had the discretion to sentence him to anywhere from time served with probation, up to 8 years in prison, or somewhere in between.
In her comments to the court regarding sentencing, DA Rios highlighted to the court that she had been prosecuting Judlin for domestic violence since 2015, and that this was now his fourth conviction for domestic violence in ten years, committed against different women. At the DA’s insistence, and the recommendation of the Probation Department, the court imposed the 8 year sentence.
