4H & FFA celebrated 250 years of America at the Lassen County Fair with our theme; “Red, White and You.” That spirit continued to radiate throughout the Junior Livestock Auction. The 2026 Junior Livestock Auction raised over $382,155.00 with the sale of Lambs, Ducks, Geese, Beef, Turkeys Goats, Rabbits, Swine, and Poultry. We had a great Auction with great support from the community and surrounding areas for our youth of Lassen County. Here are the results:
The 2026 auction began with the sale of Market Lambs. Samantha Medvin of Susanville FFA led us off with her Supreme Grand Champion Lamb which was purchased by CHP 140 Club and Idaho Butcher Shop at $26.00 per pound. Following her was Paiton Hallmark of Milford 4H with her Reserve Supreme Champion that was purchased by Susanville Supermarket IGA at $21.00 Per pound. The recipient of the Jack and Pat Haslem Memorial Award for the best local Bred and Fed lamb was Samantha Medvin of Susanville FFA and was bred by Terry and Debi Savage.
Nadiya Floyd of Susanville FFA had the Supreme Grand Champion Duck which was purchased for $900.00 by CHP 140 Club. The Reserve Supreme Grand Champion Duck was shown by Lewis Hahn of Richmond 4H and purchased by Les Schwab Tire for $1,000.00.
Lily Ammon of Susanville FFA had the Supreme Grand Champion Goose, which was purchased by Hagata Ranch for $1,150.00, and the Reserve Supreme Champion shown by Karah Edmonds of Dyer Mountain 4H was purchased by Edward Jones at $1,000.00.
Goats were next up in the sale with Aspen Borba of Susanville FFA who had the Supreme Grand Champion Goat which was purchased by CHP 140 Club and Savage Feed Supply at $24.00 per pound. Next up was Nolan Lilly of Richmond 4H who had the Reserve Supreme Champion which was purchased by Hat Creek Construction at $17.00 per pound. The Local Bred and Fed Goat award went to Aspen Borba of Susanville FFA which was bred by Lazy S Boer Goats.
MLJ Show Cattle purchased the Supreme Grand Champion Turkey shown by Axtin Smith of Westwood FFA for $1,350.00, and Cory Deehan of South County 4H had the Reserve Supreme Champion that was purchased for $700.00 by Bill Payer.
Next up was our Supreme Grand Champion Beef shown by Elaina Stand of Dyer Mountain 4H which was purchased by Hat Creek Construction at $6.00 per pound. The Reserve Supreme Champion was shown by Peyton Pratt and purchased by Ed Staub & Sons and Hat Creek Construction for $6.00 per pound. The Local Bred and Fed Beef award went to Peyton Pratt of Susanville FFA that was bred by Wolf Ranch Angus.
Gracie Saint Germain of Susanville FFA got the Supreme Grand Champion Rabbit which was purchased by CHP 140 Club and Kaitlyn Midgley at $1,800.00, and Joseph Phan of Susanville FFA had the Reserve Supreme Champion which was purchased by Dennis Michaels Construction and Lassen Vet Services for $1,300.00. The Local Bred and Fed Rabbit award went to Liam Allen of South County 4H and was bred by Liam Allen.
The Supreme Grand Champion Hog was shown by Ava Schies of Westwood FFA was sold for $34.00 per pound and purchased by Greg Lopez Construction, and the Reserve Supreme Champion was shown by Carter Brazil of Johnstonville 4H and was purchased by CHP 140 Club for $24.00 per pound. The Local Bred and Fed Hog award went to Carlee Parker of Richmond 4H and was bred by Carlee Parker.
Poultry was the final species of the day to be sold. The Supreme Grand Champion was shown by Bailey Adams of Milford 4H and purchased by CB Equipment Repair and Butterbach Family for $1,600.00. Isabella Burton of Susanville FFA had the Reserve Supreme Champion which sold for $1,500.00 and purchased by Nathan Cox.
