Surge in Criminal Activity- Plumas Sheriffs Respond to Three Break-ins

The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three unrelated commercial break-ins in Quincy, highlighting a recent surge in criminal activity.

The first incident occurred at the One Stop Gas Station. On June 15, 2024, at 2:23 am, deputies responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the One Stop Gas Station. When they arrived, they found the front door had been broken into. Shortly afterward, Jonathan Dean, 46, of Quincy, turned himself in at the Plumas County Jail. He was booked for burglary (459 PC) and theft (488 PC).

Just ten days later, a 2nd burglary occurred at the same gas station. Plumas Sheriff’s Office says During the early hours of June 25, 2024, at approximately 1:16 am, deputies were dispatched again to the One Stop for another burglary alarm. At their arrival, two subjects fled on foot. Additional subjects also fled during a search around the business. After additional units arrived, it was confirmed that the business had been broken into. Two juvenile suspects were located in the area, while two remain large. Due to the involvement of juveniles and the ongoing investigation, no further information is available.

The third incident occurred on June 27, 2024. The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report of a burglary that had occurred early in the morning two days prior on June 25, 2024. Thanks to good surveillance, the suspect, Christina Ward, 30, of Greenville, was quickly identified and arrested later that day. Ward was booked into Plumas County Jail on burglary charges (459 PC) and probation violation (1203.3 PC). The Sheriff’s Office appreciates the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
