Plumas Disc Golf Association is proposing a new course in the Plumas National Forest. The association is looking to add the 18-hole game to the Cascade Trailhead Recreation Site, saying it will bring in more recreational use to the trailhead.

In addition, the Plumas National Forest has proposed to use the opportunity to complete much-needed forest health and access improvements to the Cascade Day use area.
The project, titled the North Quincy Fire Resiliency Project, would allow thinning and fuels reduction work by use of vegetation treatments and prescribed fire around and within the recreational site.

The forest service would also improve the forest service road accessing the area. Improvements would include adding gravel, smoothing and shaping the surface, adding drainage, and lining and putting in signs for the parking area.

Your input is needed on the proposed projects. The National Forest has opened commenting through September 15th. Your thoughts and concerns can be delivered to Quincy’s Mt. Hough Ranger District. You can call 283-7625 for more information.
