In a much-needed effort to improve road conditions, Caltrans District 2 and contractors are set to begin a significant pavement repair project across various routes. With a budget of over $7 million, the project will involve the replacement of asphalt concrete through dig-outs at several locations.

You can expect disruptions as construction activities are scheduled to begin tomorrow. Lane closures will be implemented on interstate locations, while one-way traffic control will be in effect with potential delays of up to 15 minutes at other locations. The construction work will take place from Monday to Friday during daytime hours.

The routes included:

State Route 32 (Tehama County) – West of junction with State Route 36

State Route 44 (Shasta County) – Near Viola and Eskimo Hill Summit

State Route 70 (Plumas County) – Between Blairsden and Portola

State Route 89 (Plumas County) – Near Wolf Creek undercrossing

U.S. 395 (Modoc County) – Between Alturas and California/Oregon State Line

You are strongly advised to exercise caution and reduce speed when approaching construction areas. It is crucial to follow speed limit reductions, allow extra travel time for potential delays, and be mindful of road crews working diligently to complete the project. The anticipated completion date for the pavement repair projects is the end of September.
