After 46 years of dedicated service, Dr. David Walls, a beloved figure in the Lake Almanor community, is set to retire, as announced by the Lake Almanor Clinic.
Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) expressed its support for Dr. Walls as he takes on retirement, stating that along with the community, the district appreciates his remarkable work and the legacy he leaves behind.
Described as a “generational cornerstone of health in the basin,” Dr. Walls has been a devoted provider, caring for countless individuals over the years.
Having served in various capacities, from delivering babies to working in different hospital departments, including ER, Long Term Care, and Acute Care, Dr. Walls most recently served as a Primary Care Provider at Seneca, consistently making rounds in Long Term Care.
Colleagues like Jessica Gorbet, the Clinic Manager at Seneca, cherish their memories of working alongside him and acknowledge his invaluable contributions to healthcare in the community. Marian Thompson, a Medical Receptionist, has worked closely with Dr. Walls for 26 years, considering him not just a boss but a caring member of her own family.
Dr. Walls’ impact reaches beyond medical care; he has forged long-term connections with the Lake Almanor community.
Seneca will honor him at the New Hospital Groundbreaking Ceremony today at 9:00 am. His last day at the clinic will be on August 29th.
