Just across the border in neighboring Nevada, a long-dormant tradition is making a comeback this summer.
The official Nevada State Fair is set to return June 11–13, 2026, at the Nevada State Fairgrounds in Reno, marking the revival of an event that had been absent for more than a decade.
Organized by the Nevada Department of Agriculture, the fair will highlight the state’s agricultural heritage and youth programs with events including the Nevada Junior Livestock Show, the University of Nevada, Reno Extension 4-H State Expo, the Nevada Governor’s Sale of Champions, a farmers market pavilion, and Next Generation Junior Bull Riding.
The fair’s return follows the passage of Nevada Assembly Bill 333, which restored the state fairgrounds — including the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center and Reno Rodeo Arena — to the agriculture department. The original state fair operated from 1874 until 2010, when the state fair board dissolved the event.
State agriculture officials say the revived fair aims to blend nostalgia with new experiences while celebrating Nevada’s communities and agricultural roots.
Tickets are expected to go on sale April 15, with additional information available through the state fair website.
