Lassen County Crime Stoppers Fights Local Crime

SHARE NOW

Lassen County Crime Stoppers works to make our community safer by offering cash rewards for tips that lead to the arrest or prosecution of a suspect. The group regularly partners with local law enforcement, posting lists of wanted individuals on social media and in the news.

This year, the organization has made significant strides in its efforts:

There were 24 total tips received (16 by phone and 8 via social media), which led to 11 arrests.

A total of $1,400 has been anonymously awarded to tipsters since January 1st.

Special $1,000 rewards were approved this year for several high-profile crimes, including the theft of Humane Society donation boxes and the fire at the Memorial Park Grandstand.

In collaboration with the Susanville Police Department and Susanville Public Works, Crime Stoppers also installed 20 new street signs around town this year. These signs display the group’s motto, “Crime Doesn’t Pay… but We Do!” and the tip line number, 1-530-502-TIPS.

Since 2016, when Lassen Crime Stoppers began, they have awarded 98-tipsters totaling more than $8,900. As well as many tips that come in from people who never ask for money and just want to anonymously submit a tip.
