Morning commuters: Take it slow this morning!
A cold front spinning off a persistent low off the Pacific Northwest coast is moving into the foothills this morning. This will be a quick moving system with rain this morning, tapering off to scattered showers this afternoon. Highs today in the mid 40s. Slight chance of showers this evening, with any threat of showers ending overnight. Expecting about 0.50” of rain in the foothills. Snow levels 6000-7000 with only a few inches of new snow expected over Donner Summit.
And then its break time as high pressure builds in over the region through the remainder of the week. Mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s tomorrow through Wednesday. Ditto Thursday and slightly warmer with highs in the low 60s.
A good chance of another system moving into the region this weekend. Right now, it looks like we could see rain arriving late Friday night into Saturday. At this point it looks like a quick moving and weak system as the stronger dynamics stay just to the north. Snow levels look to be on the higher side around 6000-7000.
