On August 15, 2021, at approximately 0350hrs The Susanville Fire Department responded to the
area of Main and Foss St. for a reported vegetation fire.
E621 from the Susanville Fire Department arrived on scene and found 30’x15’ vegetation fire
alongside the Paiute Creek. The fire was burning at a slow rate of spread in approximately 3’ tall
grass. Fire crews made an aggressive fire attack and contained the fire without further spread.
There were 3 fire engines, 10 firefighters, and 1 chief officer that responded to this incident. There
were no fire service or civilian injuries.
The Susanville Fire Department was assisted by CAL FIRE, and the Susanville Police Department.
The fire appears to be human caused.
