A trial commenced this week in Sacramento for Lassen County Superior Court Judge Tony Mallery, who faces six public members, three judges, and two lawyers as part of the proceedings. Dr. Michael A Moodian from Chapman University serves as the trial’s chairperson. Mallery must defend himself against more than 20 misconduct and ethics violations charges within the Lassen courtrooms.
The hearing began promptly at 9 am Monday and will continue until July 21st. Additionally, a second week of the trial has been scheduled from August 15th to the 25th.
To ensure a fair and impartial process, the Commission on Judicial Performance has appointed special masters to preside over the hearing.
In response to the notice of the formal proceedings received in September, Mallery initially denied any violations, asserting that the commission had a biased “goal in mind.” He also accused the commission of accepting false or misleading testimony.
The hearings are being conducted at the Superior Court of California in Sacramento.
