The Lassen County Board of Supervisors will consider a proposed salary increase for the county’s Deputy Chief Administrative Officer during a special meeting Tuesday.
According to the agenda item, the request seeks a two-step salary adjustment worth approximately $12,000 annually.
County officials say the increase is being requested because the Deputy CAO has taken on additional responsibilities following changes in staffing. The agenda states the position has absorbed the duties previously handled by the CAO Assistant and the Budget Analyst.
In addition to those expanded responsibilities, the Deputy CAO is expected to train and oversee the Budget Analyst position once it is filled.
The agenda also cites pay equity as a reason for the request, stating the increase would bring the Deputy CAO position into parity with the Health and Social Services Agency Director. According to the staff report, that position was historically classified as a Deputy CAO before receiving a title change.
If approved, the salary adjustment would increase the Deputy CAO’s annual compensation by approximately $12,000.
The proposal is one of several items on the agenda for Tuesday’s special meeting of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors. The board is expected to discuss the request before taking action.
