The City of Susanville has launched its annual leaf collection program, running from October 21 through December 6. This popular program provides residents a free and eco-friendly way to dispose of fallen leaves while helping to keep the city clean.
Residents are encouraged to drop off securely tied bagged leaves at the vacant lot located at the intersection of Skyline and Numa Road. A few guidelines to follow include:
– Only bagged leaves are allowed.
– Bags should be tied securely and weigh no more than 40 pounds.
– Leaves can be dropped off at the designated area.
For elderly and disabled residents unable to transport their leaves, assistance is available by calling (530) 257-1041 to schedule a home pickup.
Public Works Director Bob Godman noted that, on average, over 800 cubic yards of leaves are collected each year through this program, demonstrating the importance of this service for maintaining a clean and safe community environment.
Leaves Only
It’s important to note that only leaves are accepted—no trash or other debris is permitted.
This program is brought to the community by the City of Susanville, with support from C&S Waste Systems and Lassen County Air Pollution Control District. These partnerships are integral to ensuring a successful collection season each year.
