Plumas Supervisors head to Greenville today to observe the ongoing recovery efforts for the Dixie Fire. Their goal is to explore ways in which the county can actively contribute to the rebuilding process on the almost million-acre burn scar.

The Supervisors will begin their visit at 4 pm with a walking tour of the town, organized by the Dixie Fire Collaborative. The tour will cover various locations, including the sheriff’s substation, Greenville Rancheria, downtown businesses, and the Indian Valley Community Center. Additionally, there will be photos showcasing the Dixie disaster’s impact on other areas like Indian Falls, Canyon Dam, and Warner Valley.

Following the tour, at 4:30 pm, the Board will hold a working dinner at The Spot, where the Dixie Fire Collaborative will give a presentation.

At 5:30 pm, the Supervisors will hold their regular public meeting at the Greenville Elementary School cafeteria. The majority of the meeting will focus on the initiatives undertaken by the Dixie Fire Collaborative, from aiding those who lost homes and businesses to reviving Greenville into a sustainable small town.

The meeting will also discuss the county’s plans for its properties, followed by deliberations on collaboration options with the Dixie Fire Collaborative. You will have an opportunity to speak during the open public comment section of the meeting.
