A newly constructed workforce housing home built as part of Greenville’s post-Dixie Fire recovery effort will be open to prospective buyers during a public open house on Saturday, July 18.
The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 305 Bush Street, will showcase the second home completed through Welcome Home Greenville, a nonprofit committee of the Plumas Housing Council formed to expand attainable housing opportunities in the community.
The three-bedroom, two-bath home is listed for $299,000 and offers 1,260 square feet of living space. The newly built residence features an open floor plan, a modern kitchen, and energy-efficient construction intended to help reduce long-term ownership costs.
The home is being marketed by Cassie Barr of eXp Indian Head Properties Realty, who will host the open house and be available to answer questions about the property and the homebuying process.
Welcome Home Greenville was established in 2024 as part of the Workforce Housing Initiative launched by The Almanor Foundation in response to the housing shortage created by the 2021 Dixie Fire. The program works to provide newly constructed homes at cost, making homeownership more attainable for local families.
“These homes are being sold at cost, making it a wonderful opportunity for a family to purchase a new home,” said Josh Huddleston, chair of The Almanor Foundation and liaison to the Plumas Housing Council. “Added to the bonus of a great price is that these homes are economical to maintain.”
Organizers say the home may be of interest to first-time buyers, families relocating to the area, or residents seeking to return to Greenville after losing homes in the Dixie Fire.
Attendees at the open house will also be entered into a drawing for a Grizzly Bite gift card.
