With the last clear evening in sight before the next storms arrive, turn your eyes to the sky. Two bright spots are lighting up the night sky. These are the rare joining of Venus and Jupiter. The spectacle has brought some to believe they are being watched by aliens, but rest assured, Nasa says the planets made thier closest approach yesterday, passing each other just half a degree apart, being at their closest by midnight. Jupiter will be the dimmer globe because it is much farther away, while Venus will glow nearly six times as bright. You can catch the pair by looking into the western sky.
The next time the two planets will be this close will be in 2032.
