Plumas District hospital is asking you for input on the need for the return of a skilled nursing facility within Quincy. The town has not had one since the closing of the Quincy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, closed nearly 7 years ago. The new facility would be financed with USDA Rural Development under the Community Facilities Program. Costs for the new facility could be as high as 30 million dollars. Yet this also comes on the heels of the hospitals requirement to meet the state’s new seismic requirements, meaning a 50 million dollar new hospital is also needed. You can attend to share your thoughts on the project and its financing at the virtual public meeting to be held March 10th at 4pm. For more information about the meeting you can contact Sierra Blanton-Rader at 283-7127.
