Feather River Resource Conservation District and the UC Cooperative Extension are planting trees for Earth Day and are looking for volunteers.
You can get ready to get your hands dirty as teams plan to support reforestation efforts after the Dixie fire. Planting will take place at the Cemetery District in Greenville starting at 9 am this Saturday, April 22nd.
The event will kick off with an educational talk on reforestation property management, and planting will begin from 10 am to 3 pm. You are asked to bring a chair for the presentation, water, and your lunch. You will be planting trees on uneven and sloped terrain. It is best to be prepared by wearing long pants, gloves, and sturdy shoes.
The meeting location will be at the Greenville Cemetery District Office at 133 Hideaway Road.
This represents the first step in a three-year Emergency Forest Restoration Team project led by Feather River RCD and local partners to plant at least 3,000 acres of private non-industrial forest land in the county.
