The recovery of Plumas County from the Dixie Fire continues with more than three quarters of registered properties cleared of debris. Clean-up in Warner Valley and Frenchmen lake continue and Sheriff Johns and Emergency Services Coordinator Pam Courtright met with agencies to discuss the fire recovery process around building community fire breaks, and defensible space and home hardening. The sheriff and Courtwright met around Indian Falls, Greenville and Canyon Dam. Burn scar area hazards, infrastructure damage and debris clean up progress was also topics of discussion. Both also spoke to representatives from Housing and Urban Development about local impacts vs what HUD’s methodology is in regard to cost recovery. The Dixie Fire collaborative will hold its next monthly rebuilding meeting on May 21st at the Greenville library from 11 to 1pm.
