Modoc and Plumas counties will see 8 million dollars for new Clean California projects. As part of Governor Gavin Newsoms 1.1 Billion multi-year clean-up effort led by Caltrans, the various projects will help the counties remove trash and transform public spaces. Projects will also employ over 3000 people statewide.
The grant funds allocated to Modoc county will help restore the Chamber of Commerce building. This will include ADA-compliant restrooms on park grounds and a visitors center. Shade structures, native plantings, trash bins, additional seating, new playground equipment, and ADA sidewalks will complement the project.
Plumas county will use funds for the Quincy Pocket Park. This project will create a recreational informational hub emphasizing bicycle and walking paths and provide a quaint park for the community and visitors. The park will include a public art installation, informational kiosks, benches, trash bins, bike parking, a tuning station, and a water refilling station.
These projects join 126 other beautification projects already funded throughout the state.
