PG&E faces a lawsuit from the 5 counties impacted by the Dixie fire. Lassen, Plumas, Shasta, Butte, and Tehema counties filed jointly as co-plantifs filing the suit just yesterday. In documents from PG&E, the company reports that the Cresta Dam off hwy 70 lost power at 7am on July 13th. The day the Dixie fire started. A PG&E employee who responded to the outage noticed a blown fuse uphill from his point of inspection. It has also been uncovered that it took 9 hours for the company to respond to the initial report of the outage. The lawsuit states that PG&E failed to manage and maintain its high voltage infrastructure and is seeking legal damages for injuries to public resources, natural resources, lost revenue, increased expenses, lost assets, and damage to roads and water systems. The lawsuit was filed in the San Francisco Superior court.
