Work began yesterday bringing multiple delays along your travel into Indian Falls and Moccasin.
PG&E’s contractor is undergrounding 2.2 miles of power lines along the highway, with work expected to be completed at the end of August.
Work is planned between 6 am and 7 pm during the week with 15-minute delays, and 45 minute delays overnight and on the weekends. There will be One-way traffic controls where crews are trenching and installing conduit.
The work is part of PG&E’s Community Wildfire Safety Program and is in response to California’s growing wildfire risk.
Nearly 3 miles of lines have already been undergrounded along Highway 89 from Canyon Dam south with more efforts underway along Highway 70 east of the Plumas-Butte county line.
PG&E says you will see more undergrounding along highway 70 and 89 later this year to complete undergrounding about 60 miles of power lines throughout western Plumas County.
