Closure for the Hays family, the body of missing Redding Logger, Alex Hays, has been found. He was reported missing by family on March 10th, suspected to have traveled to Plumas or neighboring counties to go “into the woods,” not taking with him a cell phone or telling anyone where he was headed. Search and rescue teams located his vehicle just one week ago, Monday, off highway 299 in Cow Creek.
Shasta county sheriffs had to ask public searches to stop due to hazardous weather conditions last week, yet by Friday, March 31st, around 1 pm, deputies responded to the area of little cow creek near Seaman Gulch road for reports of a possible body. Deputies were able to confirm the remains were that of 59-year-old Alex Hays, Sr.
The coroner’s office will be conducting an autopsy.
