Feather River Land Trust welcomes Torrey Hood as the new development director. Hood will lead the fund development and communications team, focusing on growing support for the organization.
Hood brings over 20 years of experience in annual giving, communications, workplace and corporate giving, and marketing. She previously worked as the associate director of workplace giving for The Nature Conservancy. Hood grew up in Quincy and expressed enthusiasm about returning to the Feather River Watershed to work locally.
The fund development and communications team works to increase donations and public engagement. They share stories about FRLT’s projects, invite support for the nonprofit’s mission, and collaborate across departments to educate the community about ongoing efforts.
Team members encourage the public to ask questions about FRLT’s work or explore ways to get involved. You can contact them at [email protected] to schedule a conversation or learn more.
Hood directs fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, outreach, and marketing strategies to strengthen philanthropic support. Katie Bagby, the philanthropy lead, has been involved since 2004. She manages donor relations and partners on special projects like exhibits at the Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center.
Sophia Micheletti, communications manager, handles writing, designing, and managing FRLT’s materials and online presence. Karen Kleven, retired development director, advises on legacy giving programs to support the land trust’s future.
