Chester Green Waste Program Opens May 9 with Potential Rate Increase

Plumas County Public Works announces that the Chester green waste program is set to open for the summer season Friday, May 9, weather permitting. The program is located at the Chester Transfer Station, 3 Chester Dump Road at highways 36 and A-13, 6 miles east of Chester.

The hours of operation will be Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In addition, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors is set to consider a disposal rate change from $5 to $7 per cubic yard of green waste. This potential increase will be presented at the supervisors’ meeting Tuesday, May 6, 10 a.m. at the courthouse in Quincy. Board of supervisors meetings are open to the public.
