Delays are coming to SR 299 in Modoc County a week from today as Caltrans improves the highway culverts.

Crews will be rehabilitating a total of seven culverts just outside of Cedarville at various locations, including about a mile east of 395 to about two and a half miles east of Cedar Pass Ski Tow Road.

Once work begins, you should plan for one-way traffic control delays under 10 minutes, Monday – Friday, during daytime hours.

The half-a-million-dollar project has been partially funded by the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. Dave Moore, District 2 Director, said, “Funding assistance from Senate Bill 1 allows these repairs to be made quickly along State Route 299 in Modoc County to keep culverts in good operating shape for years to come.”

As you drive through the work zone, be mindful of the reduced speed limits. The project is anticipated to be completed by early October.
