This Tuesday at 9 a.m., the Board of Supervisors will meet to discuss a variety of important topics, including workforce development, public safety, and community services.

One of the key items on the agenda is an annual update from the Alliance for Workforce Development, covering business and job seeker services for the 2023-2024 program year.

The board will also review a request from the Sheriff’s Office to add two full-time dispatcher positions, with an estimated cost of $72,659. The hires likely won’t happen until mid-year, but the board is expected to approve the positions.

A draft of the Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, which includes Lassen County, Susanville, and the Susanville Indian Rancheria, is also up for review. Once approved, it will be sent to state and federal emergency management agencies for further action.

In community services, the county plans to sign an agreement with Spare-A-Dime, Inc. to offer after-hours support for individuals in crisis, at a cost of $513,360. Additionally, the board will consider a request from Lassen Family Services to reduce fees for using the Susanville Veterans Memorial Building.

Other items include ratifying a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Lassen County Management and Professionals Association and approving a job description for the Fair Manager position.

The board’s agenda can be found on the county’s website.
