Alleged Sex Offender Bradley Reger’s attorneys have requested, once more, additional time before appearing back in court due to 1000s of more pages of case discovery.

A status hearing was scheduled to bring Reger’s case before District Judge Troy Nunley on January 18th. Yet, his attorneys, Tasha Chalfant, and Kresta Daly, requested a new proposed date for the status conference to May.

According to court documents, the extension was due to “the voluminous nature of the case’s discovery, totaling approximately 13,000 pages.”

Regers’s Attorneys say they need additional time to “review the discovery, develop the case, conduct investigations, consult with [Reger], discuss potential resolution, and explain consequences and guidelines.”

Reger was indicted on five counts of sexual abuse to minor boys following his arrest on July 6th last year when local and federal law agencies apprehended him at the agricultural inspection station at the Hallelujah Junction. His abuse is alleged to have spanned decades under the guise of medical exams, as Reger was a licensed nurse practitioner in Susanville, known to often travel abroad for youth church functions.

This is the second time Reger’s attorneys have asked for a continuance due to the sheer number of new accusations in the form of “investigative reports in electronic form, as well as audio/video and native files.”

This is largely in part due to authorities suspecting that there are additional victims yet to come forward. Sacramento FBI Special Agent In Charge Sean Ragan believes there may be victims across the nation and globally. Initially, upon Reger’s arrest in July, 40 to 50 potential victims surfaced. The FBI has established a website (fbi.gov/RegerVictims) and a hotline (800-CALL-FBI) for victims to report abuse, emphasizing the possibility of hundreds more victims.

Reger’s Case status conference is expected to be held May 23, at 9:30 am, he remains in custody in Sacramento County Main Jail without bail.
