The first snowfall is here as we welcome the start of November. Snow continues to fall this morning over the mountain and passes down to around 3500 ft. Be prepared for slippery roads and chain controls if traveling in the passes today. Give extra room for stopping between you and other vehicles. Making sure your tires have proper traction and inflation will help keep you and others safe on the roads. Snowfall prediction from the Reno national weather service shows Susanville receiving up to almost a half inch of snow over the next 12 hours down to 3300 feet. The winter storm watch will be in place through today, with a break Thursday and Friday until another system moves in on Saturday.
