Smoke from Fires Burning Near Oregon Border Drift into the Region


Significant fires burning near the Oregon border have begun to impact air quality in the region.

The Air Now smoke map indicates that the AQI from Siskiyou County into Redding and Chico is moderate, meaning those with sensitivities should limit outdoor activities, and for all others, opening doors and windows remains safe.

In local areas, air quality remains at typical levels, yet you may see haze on the horizon. There are no current fires in Lassen, Plumas, or Sierra Counties.

Shelly Fire

Burning in the Klamath National Forest, significant growth in the last 24 hours, now reported at over 6200 acres with 0% containment.

Royal Fire

Burning in the Tahoe National Forest, near 154 acres with 0% containment
