Due to continued power outages and heavy snow impacting the region schools have been canceled for the day.

Afternoon update: PG&E crews have restored power to about half of the homes impacted in the Quincy area. No cause has been identified, but restoration efforts continue. Plumas Sierra Rural Electric also reports power has been restored to most of its customers.
