Hamilton Branch Fire Protection District has been awarded 11 and a half thousand dollars through a grant from Cal Fire. With the funds the fire dept has been able to purchase much needed equipment including hose packs and clamps, backpack pumps, wildland nozzles, 1500 feet of wildland hose and fire shelters to protect firefighters during intense heat and flames while out in the field. The Cal fire foundation offers grant opportunities to fire departments, firefighter associations and community-based organizations whose vital projects focus on keeping Californians, the state’s communities and first responders safe, with nearly 2 million dollars dispersed to 62 fire departments/local firefighter associations and 64 community organizations this year alone.
