The Crescent Mills sawmill has finished its first round of boards cut from Dixie fire damaged trees. The new sawmill is nearing its completion. The Sierra Institutes mill was set to be a timber product plant, yet they partnered with Longtime local partner J&C enterprises on a new mission post Dixie fire. Currently full boards will be available come April, with grading and planing capabilities coming by summer. Yet the mill has said they will help you with any logs you may have if you are from the area. They will cut those and bring them back for use as firewood for you. The mills mission is to cut lumber locally, have it help those who have been hit by hardest by the fire, keep the people of Plumas County working, and not waste what is being cut down following the fire.
