Dixie fire damaged properties are being illegally dumped on. The county has found numerous sites where large appliances, with no evidence of fire damage, have been dumped onto properties that were affected by the fires. Debris removal has been ongoing in Greenville for some time already and some are taking advantage of the situation. It is illegal to dump on public and private property and carries a fine of up to 10,000 dollars and up to six months in jail. County Administrator Gabriel Hydrick said they are taking the offenses seriously and will apply all state laws to those who are caught dumping on any of the fire damaged sites.
