You still need to boil your water in Chester. The notice is still in place following a weekly routine sample test that came back positive for E. Coli. We spoke to Allan Homme with the American Valley Community Service District in Chester who shares they have completed chlorinating Chester and are conducting extensive sampling throughout the system over the next 24 hour period, this process will be repeated until it is fully confirmed that there are no more traces of the bacteria. It is under investigation as to the cause of the contamination yet it is suspected that the recent heavy rainfall may have contaminated one of the systems wells.
