The 140 Squad Club made the following announcement.

After 27 memorable years of serving Lassen County at the Lassen County Fair, the 140 Squad Club regrets to announce
that our famous tri-tip booth will not be returning this year. For the last 27 years, the 140 Squad Club has used all
proceeds made from the trip-tip booth each year to purchase animals from Lassen County youth at the junior livestock
auction.
This decision was not made lightly. Following a very challenging and unsuccessful year in 2025, combined with significant
increases in the cost of supplies, we were forced to carefully evaluate the sustainability of continuing our operation at
the fair. As a fair vendor, we are responsible for multiple expenses, including site fees, electricity, admission passes, and
a 19% contribution of our gross sales to the fair. Despite multiple meetings and discussions with fair and county
representatives in an effort to find solutions for all nonprofit vendors, we were unable to reach an agreement to reduce
any of these costs.
We understand that our booth has become a tradition for many, and we sincerely apologize to everyone who looks
forward to visiting us each year.
While we will not be at the fair in this capacity, the 140 Squad Club remains committed to supporting our community.
We will continue to participate in the livestock auction and proudly support the hardworking youth of Lassen County by
purchasing animals. Additionally, we are actively exploring new fundraising opportunities and look forward to sharing
those efforts with the community in the near future.
At this time, we are also selling raffle tickets, with 100% of the proceeds going toward purchases at the livestock auction.
If you are interested in supporting this effort, please contact any 140 Squad Club member.
We are incredibly grateful for the support Lassen County has shown us over the past 27 years. Thank you for being a
part of this tradition.
