The Indian Valley Museum announces its annual antique day event including appraisals and sales May 2 at the museum, 4288 Cemetery Road in Taylorsville.

Organizers welcome folks with old items they always wondered about — what it is, where it came from, how much it might be worth — to gather for a day of fun. A professional appraiser will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the museum’s community room to evaluate antiques and collectibles. The valuation cost is $8 for one item or $24 for four.

New this year, the event includes vintage sales. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. independent vendors will be offering a selection of antiques and collectibles for sale, possibly including furniture, coins and stamps, fine art, silver, trading cards, glassware and household items, pictures, toys, jewelry, memorabilia and pop culture, and vintage fashion. Booths will be set up in front of the annex building next to the museum.

Those interested in participating as vendors can request a vintage sales registration form from Vicki Schneider at 530-751-6105, [email protected] or [email protected]. A 10-foot by 12-foot space costs $15 for those bringing their own table and chairs, or $25 with a 6-foot table and two chairs included.

Lunch will be served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in museum’s community room. The lunch costs $12 and includes a deli sandwich and a variety of side dishes, chips, a drink and dessert.

The museum will be open for general visitation throughout the day. Organizers invite everyone to enjoy local history, interesting artifacts and the museum’s one-of-a-kind gem and mineral room. Complimentary refreshments and snacks will be available.
