Feather River College volleyball standout Chloe Albiez has been named the 2025-26 California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) Women’s Athlete of the Year, capping one of the most decorated careers in Golden Eagles athletics history.

The sophomore outside hitter from Weaverville was selected as the top female student-athlete among all California community college sports after an exceptional two-year career that saw her dominate both indoor and beach volleyball.

Albiez led Feather River College to back-to-back 3C2A state championships, becoming the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 state tournament as the Golden Eagles made history by becoming the first Northern California program to win consecutive state volleyball titles. She also became just the fourth player in California community college history to earn state tournament MVP honors in consecutive seasons.

During the championship tournament, Albiez recorded 56 kills, 29 digs and five service aces over three matches. She finished the 2025 indoor season leading the state with 513 kills in 38 matches while adding a .293 hitting percentage, 2.46 digs per set and 55 blocks. She reached double-digit kills in 28 matches.

Albiez also excelled in beach volleyball, helping Feather River place third at the state championships while advancing to the 3C2A individual quarterfinals with her doubles partner.

Her accomplishments extended beyond the state level as she became just the third California community college player ever to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Year award for two-year colleges.

Under head coach Sarah Ritchie, the Golden Eagles compiled an impressive 68-8 overall record during Albiez’s two seasons. She will continue her volleyball career at the NCAA Division I level after signing with the University of Central Florida.

The California Community College Sports Information Association has presented its State Athlete of the Year awards since the 2011-12 academic year, recognizing the top male and female student-athletes across all California community college sports. This year’s men’s honor went to Cuesta College swimmer and water polo player Grant Huston.
