The unusual seasonal heavy snowfall in the Northern Sierras has increased the state’s water content for the year. Nearly 40 inches of precipitation accumulated with the lastest storms bringing the water content back up to 83% of normal for this date.
Even as a result of the high volume of snow Intermountain Disposal has to close its green waste collection over the weekend in the Portola area. Yet by today you can expect the facility to re-open as weather has improved over the weekend with a return to warmer days.
