The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and Hat Creek Construction & Materials, Inc. will begin work on the North Willow Creek CIR (cold-in-place recycling) Project on State Route 139 in Lassen County. The $5.5 million project will repave SR 139 north of Susanville, from 1.1 miles south to 7 miles north of Willow Creek Bridge. The project will also include guardrail and shoulder work, along with striping.
Construction activities are planned to start on Monday, September 21. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 15-minute delays, Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-November.
