Community meetings have been scheduled for the North Fork Forest Recovery Project, organized by the Sierra Institute for Community and Environment in collaboration with the Plumas National Forest.
Two additional meetings will take place this summer in Greenville, California. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, July 13, at Greenville Elementary School from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a focus on the communities of Greenville and Crescent Mills. The second meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at the same location and time, with a focus on the communities of Seneca, Canyon Dam, Belden, Rich Bar, Virgilia, Twain, Paxton, and Indian Falls.
All members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, gain a better understanding of the project, and provide input regarding the project’s scope and priorities. The North Fork Forest Recovery Project aims to restore and rehabilitate approximately 166,854 acres of National Forest System lands that were severely affected by the Dixie Fire in 2021, the Walker Fire in 2019, and the Moonlight Fire in 2007.
