Two homes up in flames, with the culprits identified as the usual suspects: faulty electrical wiring and neglected chimney flues.
Janesville Fire Protection District says crews arrived at 2:00 Sunday afternoon to find a home on A-3 and Cummings Rd. fully engulfed.
Neighboring homes were threatened, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading, knocking down the fire within the hour.
Thankfully no injuries were sustained by those living in the home or to first responders battling the blaze. Investigations say it was sparked by faulty electrical.
While on Monday, March 4th, just before noon in Chester a home on Pine Way had its chimney go up in flames.
Peninsula Fire, Chester Fire, and West Almanor Fire responded. Due to the swift response, the fire was extinguished quickly, limiting the damage to the area around the fireplace.
No injuries were reported. An official cause of the fire has yet to be disclosed.
