1,529 acres, 43% containment
Current Situation: Firefighters continue to make progress securing the Bull Fire. Pockets of heat remain in heavier fuels and areas of steep, difficult-to-access terrain. Firefighters will continue working directly along the fire’s edge where conditions allow, while strengthening existing containment features and assessing areas for suppression repair. Aircraft will be utilized to support firefighters working in remote areas and assist with remaining heat as needed. The Hawk Fire burn scar continues to provide a useful containment feature along the eastern side of the fire. Crews will continue to patrol and secure the perimeter while working to keep the fire within its current footprint. Firefighters remain focused on protecting life, property, critical infrastructure, and natural resources.
A drone intrusion occurred over the Bull Fire yesterday. With aircraft continuing to support suppression efforts, the public is reminded that unauthorized drones near a wildfire create a very serious safety hazard for firefighters and aviation resources. Remember – if you fly, we can’t.
