Two suspects remain on the run after a routine traffic stop by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) led to a major drug seizure on October 22. During speed enforcement along State Route 89 near Willow Way, CHP officers stopped a Ford van at approximately 8:50 PM after it was clocked exceeding the 55 MPH speed limit. However, the encounter quickly escalated when the driver and passenger fled into a nearby wooded area, evading officers.

Upon searching the vehicle, CHP officers discovered approximately 1,012 pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated street value of $3 million. The bust marks a significant discovery in the area, intensifying efforts to locate the suspects and determine the source and intended destination of the large drug supply.

CHP is collaborating with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office to aid in the search and has asked the public for assistance. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Quincy CHP Office at 530-283-1100.

As investigations unfold, community members are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may help bring the suspects to justice.
