The Quincy Chamber of Commerce reports its micro grant program has wrapped up, putting money in the hands of local business owners. At the chamber board’s Sept. 14 meeting, three final awards were approved for the Plumas County Arts Commission, Carey Candy Co. and Sierra Moon Handcrafted, bringing the program’s total to 14 recipients across two rounds. The American Rescue Plan Act funds behind the program are now fully awarded.
Round 1 supported Feather River Food Co-op, Quintopia Brewing Co., Feather River Rail Society, WildBio Flourishing and We Bake 4 U. Round 2 added Feather Financial Tax and Insurance Services, Christina’s Hand Painted, Plumas Rural Services, Women of Plumas County, The Brewing Lair and Rhythm and Grace Dance Studio, along with the three newest awardees.
Grants ranged from $500 to $1,000. The chamber said this money went toward equipment, signage, marketing and new product lines. Organizers called this “the kind of investment that’s tough to make out of a slow month’s revenue but keeps paying off long after.”
