Susanville Little League files a police report over extensive ongoing issues of finding drug paraphernalia and incidents of vandalism at the Pat Murphey Fields.

A police report was filed yesterday, according to board members, after the league was notified that the porta-potty facilities located next to the farm and TBall fields were left in hazardous conditions. Inside, officers found drug items, excrement, and abandoned clothing.

Just last season, the league was forced to issue a stark warning to parents to keep a close watch on their children as they played around the fields and bleachers. The league warned them of unsuspected drug paraphernalia that may be littering the grounds despite clean-up efforts, stating that it’s a daily battle to keep the fields safe for the kids.

The port-a-potty facilities near the Farm and T-Ball fields serve the youngest players, aged 4 to 8. Due to the conditions and fear of continued vandalism, the league has closed the facilities indefinitely and is considering removing them altogether.
